Turning on A/C immediately after you sit behind the steering wheel is one of the biggest mistakes that people doing constantly. You should know that it can be very dangerous for you and people around you.
When you are leaving your car outside with closed windows, it accumulates 400 – 800 mg of benzene that evaporates from the interior plastics.
It’s worse when the car is exposed on sun or temperature higher than 16 degrees Celsius. In that case emission of benzene inside the car is between 2000 – 4000 mg which is 40 times more than the allowed level.
Inhaled benzene can negatively affect on your liver, bone tissue and kidneys and it needs time to be eliminated out of your body.
According to the car manuals, they strongly suggest opening car windows prior we turn on the A/C, but they don’t tell why.
If you not open the car windows before you turn on air conditioner, all benzene particle will start circulating inside the cockpit. It can be really dangerous for you and your family. So, open your car windows for few minutes and let fresh air to get into your car.
You must start practicing this approach, because on long term consequences can be fatal.
